The first show to star on…
It was a show that traveled the country, filming contemporary singers and musicians on their own turf. I was joined by eight beautiful female dancers. Acts like Three Dog Night, The Who, Taj Mahal, Boyce and Hart, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, O.C.Smith and Linda Ronstadt to name just a few. The dancers and I would open the show with a big production number, usually with a local theme depicting scenes and sketches pertaining to the area where we were filming. The way the show got it’s title is kind of interesting. It was originally set to be called “THE ACTION FACTION”, with THE ACTION FACTION DANCERS. I didn’t care for the title and approached the producer with my complaint. He said “Well, what should we call it?”. I wasn’t sure and answered… I don’t know, something else. And he said,”I LIKE IT !”.
